Stopped off here for three nights en route to Buenos Aires. Did a fair bit of shopping by our standards- almost doubling the wardrobe ie brought two new t-shirts.Rosario was a nice enough place. Most memorable thing was the storm that happened on the evening before we left. At 5pm the sky suddenly turned black and a really strong wind flared up. Then (luckily we were safely in our hostel) hail stones the size of golf balls fell from the sky with such force that they smashed office and shop windows and car windscreens. As we watched out of the hostel lounge window we felt like we were watching a disaster movie. Then ten minutes later it was all over, but left behind was devastation. Worst hit was the office opposite - all the windows smashed (see photos). According to the local paper five people died in the storm.
