We got into Atlanta at some ridiculous time like 6am, managed to negotiate the public transport and then sat in the Olympic park for some 6 or so hours.  Sounds boring but after all the frantic travelling it was nice to just sit for a while and not move.

Found the CNN building to grab a bite to eat, and tried to ring home for Gaz's birthday only to discover for the first time just how shockingly bad American phone boxes are.

Met up with Robin and headed to the fernbank museum to look at dinosaurs and to get an impromtue lecture on Georgian rock types from some old eastern european woman.  She also showed us a plastic snake.

Highlight of the day was going to Walmart and buying a big crate of beers.

Next day we got our first chance to lounge around and relax which was great.  Spent the morning by the swimming pool and then in the evening headed out to see Chuck Phalanuck (or something like that) the author of Fight Club give a talk at the Uni.  Was great, but the first time I've ever been close to throwing up just from someone talking.  Then went to buy more beer- seemed a fantastic idea at the time to buy a keg of Heinekin but had a bit of a problem pouring it and wasted probably a third of it with froth.

The next morning we headed into Atlanta with Robin to visit the Coke museum and the Zoo- unfortunately the zoo was abandoned because of rain, but we got into the world's largest aquarium instead which was great.  Hannah wisely invested in a $30 cuddly turtle which we named after the bell (see philadelphia).

Headed on to the coke museum, the highlight of which was unlimited coke tasting at the end.  Tasted a few other things from around the world, including 'Beverly' from Italy which was honestly the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted in my life. Ever.
