After catching the 5pm train from BKK we arrived in Surat Thani around 4.30am. After an hours wait we were brought to another 'pit-stop'. Finally we were on the road (around 8am) in a mini-bus containing the 3 of us, 3 Canadian girls and 3 English girls. We had a blast to say the least with Matt playing the cheesiest music anyone has ever heard and different sorts of memory/movie games. Unfortunately due to the confined space Twister wasn't possible :o)

We decided to stay in Phuket Town rather than its counter-part Padong. If you want to party, Bangkok style, Padong is the place to be. We decided to stay in the town which is quieter and definitely less expensive, and did day trips to Padong and the beach.

Extra, Extra, read all about it..

That's not to say we didn't make the most of what night-life Phuket had to offer. On our first night, it was absolutely pissing rain. I mean lashing!! But it didn't stop us and the Canadian girls from venturing out. When we found a place (Zanzibar) we were absolutely soaked and the AC was on full blast. Freezing! The only thing to warm us up - jugs of cold beer of course.  At some point we all decided to switch tops!?!? and take to the band's stage :o) Check out the photos - A great laugh.

Highlight from our stay in Phuket was our adventure as Extras for the upcoming BBC/HBO 2-part drama series 'Tsunami - The Aftermath'. As an extra goes, we got the best "part" as the camera comes past and in front of us in a few shots (scene Phuket Airport). It was alot of waiting around but it was a good buzz and laugh during the actual filming. The drama is to be on TV around November/December we were told - so look out for it :o) Check out the photos after our visit to Make-Up :o)

A funny story from Phuket. One of the nights we decided to take-in an infamous Lady boy show impromptu as we're walking down the street. We got front-row seats with the 'girls' literally 3 feet away from us on a circular pedestal. My lord! One of the older ones, in her 40's, at one stage hitched up her skirt, turned around and touched her toes, directly in front of me. I swear, it changed me as a person haha I couldn't believe it. A few of the girls took to us and we were having a great banter with them. Once, one of them sat on a chair a few feet away and Sharon Stoned us. I'd say a picture of our faces was priceless. The plastic surgeons in Thailand do some amazing work. There were women beside us from Oz, England etc. and they couldn't tell the difference. At one point I went to the toilet. It was over 200 metres away right down some mad long corridors. Of course, what did Kev & Matt do only tell one of them I fancied here and wanted to rendez-vous. I'm peeing away into a urinal when all of a sudden one of them has her head practically on my shoulder. I shitted myself :o) I got out of there pretty quick. As I'm heading down the corridors I look behind to see her tearing after me. I felt like Sigourney Weaver in Alien Resurrection. To compound things, she walked beside me all the way back to the lads. Sure, doesn't everyone think we just had a little one-on-one in the toilets :o) The lads were pissing themselves on my return - boys will be boys!

Update December. We've just received word from our family that we were in the 2nd part (right near the end) of the Tsunami - The Aftermath drama on BBC. We're looking forward to seeing it when we return home.
