I can't even begin to describe 'what it was like in San Francisco' as it was like a whole lifetime of experiences in one week and definitely the best and most crazy place I have stayed at so far.

The train was around about 23 hours which was a killer. I enjoyed sitting in the skytrain carriage during sunset and keeping people up writing in my journal. The sleeping part was hard. I was soo cold and didn't have a blanket, i even used my pirate flag to try and keep myself warm! Must have looked like a bit of a nobhead but desperate measures. Got into SF in mid afternoon and checked into the Green Tortoise Hostel. AFter staying at only HI's, this was like a breath of fresh (slightly alcoholic and pot-like) air. We had a free dinner that night, the next night was free beer and open mic nite (some very bad bad singing) and I met some awesome people during my time there. There were ups and downs for sure! I managed to get a ticket to see my all-time favourite band, Sleater-Kinney and on Wednesday night after eating fish and chips and drinking beer by myself at this very dark and ambient bar called 'Edinburgh Castle' I went along to the Great American Music Hall. It was the best show I have EVER seen in my life and when SK came on stage they blew me away. I wasn't by myself at the show as I met someone fun and cute. I even had a tequila shot before it started!

THe encore comprised 6 songs and some of my favourites like Turn It On, LIttle Mouth, 02.... I just remember it was awesome. Back at the hostel there was a very musical party mood which people banging drums, playing guitars and singing. :)

I happened to meet up with a friend from online who i didn't know before hand and her and her bf took me out on the best night and day-trips ever! On the Sunday we walked across the Golden Gate Bridge and it was a beautiful day. Then they drove across to Land's End where all the celebrities live. JOsh drove up to where Robin Williams' house was and we pulled up outside so i could take a pic. Just as i was doing so, he pulled up behind us in his blue volvo!! I turned around and was like 'omigod' and he was just sitting there with this bemused smile on his face waiting for us to leave so he could park. Far out.

Back to the touristy stuff: i took a few cable car rides, very romantic (by myself of course), saw fisherman's wharf and the seals oinking away, walked up lots of steep hills, went up the coit tower. We were in North Beach which is right where all the strip bars are and also Chinatown. Very colourful and busy place. I was intrigued by the Hello Kitty shop and so wanted to buy something.
