We arrived in Singapore by bus after spending hours getting through customs.
Finally dragging ourselves out of our beds from a well earnt sleep, we decided that we would visit the Sentosa Island. The Sentosa Island is pretty much an amusment park, so we had lots to do! There were two ways in entering the island, the first the cable cart which was $15, or the second was to walk over the bridge for a mere $2. Guess which way these cheap skates went?
When we entered the island the Luge ride looked very enticing! Going down a hill in at high speeds in a very questionable go kart, why wouldn't it? Because of my weight advantage, I had the upper hand on the speed as I skidded uncontrolably round some crazy looking bends, narrowly missing and knocking little kids of the race track. This often left Brandon taking the wrath from angry Dads which either, shouted, cut him up or crashed into him. What are friends for? I'd like to point out though, 3 - 0!

After the Luge rides and the beach we decided to go down to the Singapore aquarium! You have to see some of the fishes, one in particular was the giant Grouper, a 1/2 tonne of pure uglyness (see the photo with Brandon in). Also the spider crab was pretty amazing, wouldn't like to see that while swimming along, chop my leg off! Oh did you know that the Bull shark is the most aggressive shark and it can pick up 1 part per every 1000000 of blood. This is the kind of detail that I really dont want to know while swimming around Australia!

The next day we decided to go to the city centre of Singapore, only to discover there isn't really a centre, only a large expanse of shopping malls. There were hundreds of them, all the same, all expensinsive. Singapore is an OK city, very clean and organised, everything is new and spotless, but there is not a lot to see. No real attractions other than the Sentosa island and the shops. Still, we amused ourselves taking photos of vaguely amusing signs. Singapore is a funny city because of the fines it imposes for trivial offences, crossing the road at any place other than a crossing incurs a $50 fine, littering a $1000 fine and eating and drinking on the subway a $500 fine. No wonder it is so clean.

Off to Australia at 1900 tomorow, we can't wait!
