During 7th grade year, I played basketball for the first time in my life. I wasn't very good, but I got to travel!!! We flew to Warsaw for a weekend to play in a tournament. We all stayed with hosts families from the school hosting the tournament. My best friend Lauren and I were put together with a crazy lady and her son and daughter (she was also playing in the tournament). They also had a spastic dog that would jump up to almost the top of our heads... After the tournament was over, we toured around Warsaw and saw some of the damage that was still apparent from after World War 2. I remember in particular a Jewish synagogue that we saw (very gorgeous) and the tomb of the unknown soldier.
