Halong Bay

We left Hanoi on a minibus and arrived in Halong, where we got on our boat and sailed off into the bay. Halong bay is absolutely beautiful, but the weather didn't do it any favours and we're sure it would have been amazing in the sunshine. We went to see an impressive cave and just sailed round for the first day with time for swimming. That night we slept on the boat and ate seafood for dinner fresh from the local fish farm.
The next day the boat dropped us off in Cat Ba island, where we chacked into our hotel for the night and then we were able to go kayaking among all the horrible jellyfish and went to monkey island for a swim in the rain. The beach was lovely but again, some sun would have been nice! We got back on the boat with our fellow vietnamese friend vomiting the whole way back mmm. Luckily he had his Mummy to look after him! Then we had dinner back in our hotel. Later on we went for drinks with our new found Irish friends and managed to get ourselves locked out of the hotel (everyone goes to sleep so early!) but got in eventually.

The last day of our trip in Halong Bay, we got back on the boat, sailed back to Halong and minibused it back to Hanoi, where that night we caught the 13hr night bus to Hue- V V V bumpy= 2 hours sleep!
