My long sleep rejuvenated me, and Rachel and I headed into the old town during the early afternoon.  I decided to take a walk outside the walls away from the old town so I could get a couple pictures looking back at the city.  My long walk was rewarded with enchanting views of Dubrovnik, with crystal clear green/blue waters leading to the old town walls.

When I returned to the city, I randomly ran into Clay, our American friend from Split and Hvar.  We further met up with Irish Dave and took a walk outside the walls to the club East/West which is ideally situated on the rocky city beach.

Clay and I took a plunge in the almost absurdly beautiful water, and then we retired to the chic lounge at East/West for cocktails.  More capirinhas of course.

We later met Rachel in the old town and also met up again with Kathy and Sarah, our friends from Korcula.  We all got dinner at some decent pizza place (almost every restaurant in Croatia serves pizza) which was located next door to an open air movie theatre.

It just so happened that the theatre was playing some kind of horror film, so our entire dinner was interrupted by numerous screams and scary music.

We headed back to East/West to begin the evening, but it was pretty dead, so we had a couple drinks and took off.  Dubrovnik isn't exactly nightlife central like the islands, as there are many more families than there are young solo travellers.  However, we were determined to find someplace, especially considering it was the weekend.

So the joint of the hour was La Fuego, just outside the city walls.  It ended up being a pretty cool joint, not exactly a chic place, but pretty packed and decently priced alcohol.  We chatted up some locals and enjoyed the amazing a/c in the side room which was filled with comfortable couches.

There was a club portion which had some DJ who claimed he was known in Miami, but his set was not exactly Tiesto and the music was unbearably loud.  The side room was where it was at, especially after we began ordering huge yard-like containers of long island ice tea.

By the end of the night, we had to say our farewells.  Clay was heading home to America, Dave was off to Hungary and Bulgaria, and Sarah and Kathy were headed to Italy.

It was sad to see everyone go, although I'm sure we'll all be meeting up in the States at some point.
