We left Edinburgh in the morning and hopped on the bus to Glasgow. From there a ferry over to Belfast then another bus to Dublin. By the time we got in it was about nine at night. The first hostel we tried was full but the second wasn't so we dropped off our stuff and went out. First we headed over to Temple Bar, which was just crazy, tons of people on the streets and kinda like the 3rd Street Promenade with the performers and such, only here 90% of the people were drinking. Since we only had pounds and no euros our next stop was to find an ATM, which we did. Then we got a couple slices of pizza because it was too late to cook and went to bed. The floors and the beds were so loud, everytime you turned over it sounded like the bed was going to collapse.

24-05-06 We partook of free breakfast then went out to explore the city. Our first goal was to find thrift stores, which we did, but they were so over priced! So we just wandered instead. We saw the beautiful Christ Church, the Customs House, the Mall on Saint Stephans Green, and all kinds of other stuff. Then we went to Tesco and picked up some groceries, then went back and made food. We read downstairs and then went to bed around 12. 25-05-06 We got ready this morning and left at 12 with two guys from the hostel for the Guiness brewery. We get there and first of all it is 9.50€ for me and 14€ for Cook. Then we find out it is a self guided tour. It is interesting, but very Disney in that you do not see any actual beer being made, of even the way they make it now. There are pieces of cool old equipment with posters or video representations of beer being made inside. The parts on Guiness advertising was cool, they used to give it to nursing mothers and women who just gave birth. The view from the bar was neat, and we got our free pints, but both gave them away. I gave mine to some nice Americans we met and Cook gave hers to Mike. Then we all parted ways and Cook and I went to Dublin castle which is very small from the outside and to me looked more like a fancy city hall. The attatched chapel looked pretty, but it was locked. Then headed back towards the hostel, stopping at a few points along the way.

A Big City is a Big City
