Aruba ? Where that..

Why Aruba ? Well some time ago my wife heard of this place as a caribbean Isle with a differance. The climate is supposed to be around the same all year round. So why not give it a go. It's a south Caribbean Isle just on the shoulder of South America, near Venezuela.

It is differant from most other Carib' islands as it is basically dutch based, from the old days of tradewind shipping. it has a lovely dutch/ americanised city center called Oranjestad. Very clean and full of shops, bars and clubs. Quite vibrant at night, especially the Casino.

Why Aruba, 'cos it's differant and we are not sure where it was.. !

We stayed about 5 mls north in the Hotelled area. The sea was generally calm, good for Scuba and snorkelling with man made wrecks close to the shore on a few western beach area's. There is always a strongish breeze though. But after a day or so not only are you glad of it, to cool you down, but you tend not to notice it too.

There is a golf course close by, and fishing trips out to sea for those who like to give it a go. Car hire is available, and you can comfortably travel the entire Island within a day and a half.

On the whole a nice place to visit, could be done in 7 days, 14 days gives plenty of free time, 10 days ideal.
