The moment of truth.  Will two 38 litre backpacks really be sufficient to carry everything we wanted to take on a round-the-world trip?

As we laid out all the guidebooks, gadgets (and their respective charging devices [why hasn't somebody devised a universal charger yet?]) it all looked like a lot more than 76 litres' of "stuff" - even with the tiny amount of clothes we are taking with us.

However, with a little compromise (leaving behind a few guidebooks we probably won't use for several months) and some very cunning packing from champion packer Vicky, we appear to have cracked it.  I have to confess to feeling rather smug about how lightly we are travelling.  I haven't travelled that much but it seems the more you travel, the less you take.  So, apart from small back-packs making us look incredibly cool :-), it won't take too much of a toll on our backs either!
