thats what my bro asked me to do today as we waited for the desfile militaria, which is peru´s military parade.  it was sweet, despite the getting up at 5:20 and waiting in the cold on extremely hard benches.  but it was a lot of fun and different.  these past few days have been crazy.   my north american friends are now here.  this has been great.  it is very nice to have some familiarity in my life.

yesterday was the official day of festivities.  we went out and went to barrancos which is a city on the water that had artisan stuff, traditional peruvian goodness to eat, and a bunch of people having a good time.  so after we got our grub on, we headed to the parque de exposicion.  it was there that we ate some more, walked around, celebrated, went to the museum of cont. art, and at the end of the evening went to an outdoor concert.  at this point morgan received some dance lessons from her peruvian homies.  it was a blast.  then we think cesar talked to the band, and we got a shout out in front of this huge crowd form Mission Peru 4.5, it was sweet.  and even sweeter, she recognized the big man upstairs and got a big applause for him.  it was a fun night, and a new experience for all of us.
