Beilstein - Mosel Valley and the Rhine

The parents and i hopped in the car and drove into Germany towards the Mosel River and Beilstein (a Rick Steves recommendation) and WHAT gorgeous countryside. Steep vinyards up the hills along the river and greenery and picturesque little towns scattered throughout. Our hotel was just wonderful in Beilstein, and we exlored the town, ate amazing meals and had fabulous local wines. We went to the Berg Eltz castle for a visit, and the english tour that is included was great fun, (Janelle I thought of you and your castle readings, I think this would be in there). More eating and drinking and exploring little towns along the way made it a great and relaxing few days.

We then headed to Bamberg to meet up with family friends that we met in Costa Rica in 1997 and mom and dad have still visited and kept in touch with! Another nice city, particularly the antiques districts! Next stop was a tour to Prague then i will stay behind on my own!
