Day 2
From Europe Band Trip in Amsterdam, Netherlands on Jul 07 '06
Today we went in the city of Amsterdam to visit the attic hide-a-way of Anne Frank. Amazing that a large family could hide out in such a small place. Very tight quarters with squeeky floors. Following the visit to the hide-a-way we had lunch in the market square. We enjoyed a dutch tradition of crouquettes. These are small soft balls with meet filling in them. I had shrimp. Very good. Next was a canal cruise through the city. Great way to see all the sites. The students had their first concert today in Leusden, The Netherlands. It was attended by many of the locals. Following the concert we went back to the hotel for an evening meal of a chicken dish with the same side dish selections as the evening before. Tonights dessert was fruit in a gel base with custard. Yummy!
