To the Beach!!

After an 8 hour bus ride I finally arrived in Newquay at 7am in the morning...  The rest of the crew arrived about 1pm so I spent most of the morning lying about on the beach - the first beach I have seen since leaving Oz!!!

We rented an apartment right on Fistral Beach which was really nice, it was brand new and we were the first to stay in it..  Had brilliant views of the ocean..

We headed down late afternoon to the local pub to watch the England vs Portugal in the quarter finals, unfortunately for England they lost and it was very heartening to see the team of meaty football players cry at the end for their loss!!!

The weather held out for us for a couple of days before turning overcast and raining, typical England weather!!!  Spent most of the days relaxing on the beach..  Went to a couple of funky bars and clubs, including a karaoke bar which was very entertaining!!!  Managed to see an English guy try and put on his highest voice and attempt to sing 'Stayin Alive'...

Flew back to London on Wednesday night out of the very small Newquay airport that looked more like a barnshed in the middle of nowhere!!!  It is the only airport that I know that charge outgoing passengers a £5 Airport Development Fee for them to stay open!!!
