Dec. 14.
Hello again! We have neglected our travel blog since arriving in Palm Springs, thinking we would update it when we left…meanwhile we are still here!!
We thought it was time to rest up and found Palm Springs the place to set up home for a couple of months. We settled into a nice RV Resort with really great facilities and decided to stay put until the New Year. Palm Springs is fantastic, great weather, mountain scenery and good shopping.
Mid October we drove a couple of hours from here to Pomona California to take in a really big RV Show. Was fun to look in all the high end Motor Coaches. I reminded Lyndsay we really were “just looking”.

Another day we took a day trip to Hemet, California, a nice drive thru the mountains from Palm Springs. Hemet is a Snowbird haven, but didn’t do much for us.
Next we drove to Yuma, Arizona to visit our friends Pat & Keith from Abbotsford. We had to see their “winter cabin” and even managed to play a few hands of cards. Keith & Pat showed us around the RV parks there, as we plan to come back to stay in the New Year. Great visit Pat & Keith, too bad you won’t be around in January when we come back. I can't imagine why you would pick a trip to Hong Kong in the New Year over us!!

We have been able to catch up with some Dawson City friends who spend the winters here in Palm Springs. Vinny & Peggy Amendola, who we have managed to see several times, and look forward to sharing Christmas Dinner with. Also it was nice to have dinner with Ken and Joan Tatlow one night. It had been many years since we last saw them.
Seems like our social calendar continues to be busy. My girlfriend Rose from Kelowna showed up for a couple of nights. It was great to see her and we managed to get a little shopping in. Frank & Karen Hawker from Dawson City/Chilliwack arrived for a 3 week visit. And Al & Joyce Bruce from Chilliwack are in town at the same time. Is really great seeing everyone, no need to get homesick now! It was fun to catch up with everyone. Lyndsay was in “Guy Heaven”, going to the Ritchie Bros Auction in Riverside with Frank for a couple of days!

Frank, Karen, Lyndsay and I took a couple of days and travelled over to Laughlin, Nevada for some fun! Lyndsay was the luckiest one of the group! We drove back to Palm Springs via Lake Havasu, which was larger than we thought. It actually rained in Laughlin and in the desert on the drive back. Karen & I looked for the desert flowers that come out after a rainfall, but didn’t see any.
The days are flying by, swimming, biking and getting into a fitness routine is feeling really good. The days are still warm, with the evenings cooling off. Lyndsay has been working on his newest “research project” that keeps him busy on his computer each day.
