We flew over to Bergen (Norway) very excited to see another country although very scared of the cost of living, which we were told ealier that night from Aasa, is extremely high.
The flight over was incredibly wet and windy (a sign of what was to come with scandinavian weather). We needed to catch a bus to the middle of town and the bus driver charged us for three people instead of two. When we went to get our money back he told has we said three and we assured him that there is only two of us and has only ever been two of us. After a long despute he finally believed us but he couldnt refund us so he gave a us a free bus pass to a destination we couldnt go to (so we gave it to someone in our dorm).

We woke up the next day and went to explore the town. Instantly we were impressed by the trees that covered the hills that surrounded Bergen. We took the funicular up to the top of one of Bergens mountains and spent the day hiking through some really nice woodland. We even stumbled across some trolls hiding in the trees and Meagan was able to steal a kiss from one. About mid afternoon the dark clouds rolled in and we made the long descent by foot into town. We were still able to spend some time looking through the old town on the harbour, a world heritage site, and crying over the cost of food in the supermarkets (about 12 dollars for a jar of pesto!).

That night we made our tea and got talking with another Aussie who gave us some travel ideas for where we might like to go next (we dont really know where we are going). We went to sleep that night very excited about tomorrows trip through the Norwegian fjords.
