As sad as we were to leave Ireland it is good to be in Scotland. Glasgow I had imagined to be a dirty and polluted industrial city ( I think I read something like that) but it was not like this at all. It's very neat, tidy and clean. In the 1800 and 1900s there was a lot of industry like ship building but they have all closed long ago. We did our usual bus tour again which was good as per normal and saw most of the attrctions that way. They have a tall ship in the port which was built in Glasgow in about 1870 I think and has now been restored to original. It has a steel hull and masts but everything else is timber. Those men were mad setting off around the world in those little tubs. One round the world trading journey took 2 years and 4 months to complete. The city center was really well done. There is a huge town square and all the old buildings have been lovingly restored to original. A good place to spend a couple of days.
