We had a great breakfast at the hotel buffet.  Lots of food and Brenda really enjoyed it - doing the buffet in Murray's style - grazing little platefuls one at a time!  Marilu tried foods she had never tasted before - then Marilu, Brenda and I met the driver and off we went for our last day in Chalchuapa.

We stopped at a nursery for some soil.  I had bought a spider plant (from a young girl at the foot of the volcano) for Aunt Marisol's house and later got a hanging basket.  Just needed a bit more dirt to put them together. The man at the nursery planted it up for us for $1.00.  He wanted $0.50 for the dirt so I was really happy when he would put it all together for only $1.00!!!

The day was spent with family, eating pupusas and watermelon, playing games, taking pictures and lots of laughter - the kids played a rigorous "hide and seek" complete with shrieks and shouts and lots of laughter.  Brought me back to Sundays at Grandma Mitchell's house -

After we left, we came back to San Salvador and had an interesting experience driving on one of the main streets after dark - less visibility.  Someone had stolen the sewer cover and we got stuck for a minute in the hole where the cover should have been in the middle of this main street!!   It was scary but Salvador really controlled the car 'Sand got us out.  We went to a fast dinner at WENDY'S - yes - I did say Wendy's - and back to our room to pack as we leave early in the morning.

Now to Brenda: As usual we had our breakfast, but this time my cousin Marilu was with us. Then we headed out to my grandmother's house and we stayed until 6. I played with the kids, first a game called jacks with the girls, then I played hide and seek with the younger kids. My family made us cheese pupusas and I had a great time playing with the kids and being around my grandmother. The day soon came to an end and once we knew it we were back at the capital, but it was 8 already! I chose to eat at a fast food place since I didn't feel like waiting a long time for food and we ended up in Wendy's. After Wendy's Lynn decided she needed ice cream and as usual she had coffee flavor. We headed back to the hotel and we're packing. I really enjoyed this whole trip so I'm happy and sad that I'm leaving, but eventually I'll come back=). Now is time for me to go to sleep because it's late and I have to wake up early. Good night!
