Checking out Las Vegas and all it has to offer
From A month out West in Las Vegas, United States on Jun 14 '08
Another hot day...It hit at least 102, and I think hotter. We spent the early morning sitting by the pool, relaxing from our hectic day yesterday. After that we had lunch at Dan Marino's again, and headed out to the strip to check things out. Everything is so BIG. We went in the MGM Grand, across the street, and it had a cage with two lions in it and we had fun watching them. Then it was on to the New York New York Hotel and Casino where they had a roller coaster that Melissa and Laura wanted to ride. We stopped in lots of gift shops and did some souvenier shopping. Then back to the hotel for a brief rest before showering for the evening. We headed over to the Venetian Hotel and Casino which was really cool--it had a mall in the Hotel with a canal and gondola rides. The sky was painted like clouds and looked real, you thought you were outside. We had a nice dinner at Grand Lux Cafe, but the highlight of the day was going to the Wayne Brady show. In case you don't know him, he is that funny (and cute and sexy) black guy on "Who's Line is it Anyway?". This guy is so funny, a genius at improvizational comedy, and he can dance and sing like nobodys business. We had front row seats!!!! Almost directly in the center, too! As part of his improv he calls on volunteers from the audience and guess who's hand was raised so high her butt was coming out of the seat?? No, not Melissa, and not Laura--me! And I got called on, along with three other people, to come on stage for this improv game where we were supposed to become the props for their story as it evolved. He asked some guy in the audience what he did for a living and he said he ran a tanning salon. So Wayne Brady said he was going to get in his tanning booth, and not knowing how to become a tanning booth, I asked him, "Don't you mean a tanning bed?"(I could have figured out how to do that) He said, "I don't know, does it look like I go to a tanning salon?" It was funny. Then at one point he was talking about horses so me and this other girl got down on all fours and one guy got on her and Wayne Brady got on my back and rode me!!! Of course I was a lively horse shaking my head to and fro! It was so much fun! Of course the whole show was absolutely great, and we laughed and laughed and laughed. After the show we had VIP passes for a meet and greet-just sixteen of us-and we got to shake his hand and talk to him and get a picture with him and an autographed picture of him. He was so nice, and he talked to Melissa about her involvement in Comedy Sportz. What an exciting night!!! We drove home on the Strip and it was our first time seeing it at night-Wow, what a sight. Like a mini New York.
And that is my story for tonight.....more later!
Wayne Brady, you can ride me anytime!
