Oh boy.  Vegas.  So the original plan was to spend two nights in Vegas...that would give us a day and a half and then two nights, right?  Yeah, sure.  Cause ya know, we'll be bored and there won't be that much for us to do in Vegas.  Ummm...no.  It took us about 10 minutes walking around the Strip to know that we were DEFINATELY staying another night.

The first thing we did was decide, against our better instincts, to see a show.  But what show to see?  We decided on Zumanity: The Sensual Side of Cique de Solie.  And, if you are going to spend too much on tickets to see a show anyway, you might as well go all out and get front row couch seats.  Yep, sitting on couches.  So we booked them for the following night (Thursday), booked dinner at Aureole for that night (Wednesday), booked dinner at N9NE Steakhouse for Thrusday, booked a much needed haircut for Dove, and then hit the road.

Dove loves shiney things, so Vegas quickly became overwhelming (in a good way) and inspiring.  The hotels themselves were gorgous, and we spent a good deal of time just walking around inside them all.  We hardly gambled at all - instead we spent our money on food and booze, including some of the best food AND drinks in the world.  Dinner at Aureole was an experience - a seven course tasting menu with wine pairing, and for entertainment, a three story glass wine rack that women in catsuits on rapelling lines climb inside of to obtain your wine.  Woah.  Really that's why Dove wanted to go, to see the Wine Fairies.  But the food rocked too.

Thursday was amazing, one of the best days of our trip.  Dove got a unbelievably expensive but most excellent hair cut, then found the perfect little black dress.  Dinner was off the hook delicious (steak, gnocci, and lobster mashed potatoes).  Then...Zumanity.  Woah.  Of course being up front (once we learned our couch was right next to the stage Dove freaked out and had a grin on her face all day) meant you'd be part of the show, and one of the actors took an instant liking to the two of us (seeing as we were the youngest people up front and were actually enjoying the show and not afraid of laughing and joking around).  He spent a good amount of time flirting with us and sitting with us on the couch - it was a riot.  The show itself was spectacular.  Afterwards we went to a duling piano bar and listened to a few tunes.  Then off to Studio 54 to dance, which was the low point in the evening since they only played top 40 and hip hop (they actually told Dove no when she requested disco...um, it's Studio 54??).  From there we went to Tabu, another club in our hotel that had good tunes, though no one was dancing.  Then to a hotel bar where we hooked up with a group from out of town and had a great time dancing and drinking and laughing...about 5:30 we knew it was time to crash.  Ugh.

The rest of Vegas was tons of fun but nothing compared to Thursday night.  Oh, except when coming home from dinner on Friday Josh found $200 and we decided to stay yet ANOTHER night.  Did I mention we loved Vegas?

Other highlights included getting served drinks by the winner of the world championship in mixology (no joke, he just was in New Zealand and won, I had him mix me drinks all night), excellent martini's at Olives at the Bellagio, dinner at Alize (though the service was...questionable, the food was spectacular), the after hours club Drais, finding Josh the coolest outfit ever...yeah, that about covers it.  Though we loved it, by day 5 we were both really worn and ready to bail.  Overwhelming is good on substantial sleep, but through bleary eyes, Vegas gets to be a bit much.  Back to the great outdoors!
