I had myself a VERY lazy day.  I took a bus- A PUBLIC BUS! - into down town Reading.  I was told by the folks at the motel in Kutztown that Reading is "violent;" I suppose they mean high-crime.  Perhaps I just passed through the cute part of old down-town but I thought it was beautiful.  The rows of old houses were beautiful and the brick sidewalks were beautiful.  I guess one could also say that the Bronx is beautuful, but I suppose I'd rather be there at noon than midnight.  I was feeling a little down, struggling to get my ankle back in shape and suffering my morning "don't-know-where-I'll-sleep-tonight" jitters, but that was all brought up by the people that I met in Reading.  I talked with several young women at the bus stop who were very impressed by my undertaking.  Two women were managing a line of pre-school children and I saw them completely lose control as the kids spotted a model town and train in a window they were passing.  I have a picture on my camera, so you'll have to wait for those adorable mugs.  I cut another 8 miles or so out by taking a cab as far as Adamstown.  The driver was so excited about my trip that I thought he might come with me.

I was dead set on camping, but found that all of the campgrounds are still shut up for the winter.  They're fit for an rv, but don't have water or bathroom facilities open yet.

My ankle is giving me pain, I do struggle to get going in the morning, but on the whole I guess I'm having fun.  I'm nearly overwhelmed by so many things, a budding flower, a dead duck in the road, the kindness of a stranger- but I guess I can say that I'm doing this.  I may actually feel like I'm doing this.  When I struggle these are my priorities: 1. Save my body, 2. Save the mission, 3. Save money.  As you may guess, money has taken a hit, but spring is coming.
