Toulouse...what's so great about Toulouse???

We made it into Toulouse and found our hotel by some stroke of total luck. We got off the interstate and then in a matter of a few seconds got totally and completely lost. We had step by step instructions that we had printed from the viamichellin web site but there were no street signs anywhere so we had NO idea where the hell we were going.  We turned left because Dana felt that was the thing to do, then we drove straight for a few blocks, then we turned right because Dana said he felt good about turning that way...well believe it or not, when we were stopped at a red light we looked to our right and there was our hotel. How weird is that?? That told me right there and then that my husband has a sixth sense for direction and I will never question him again. Well, maybe not NEVER...

So after checking into our hotel we went in search of a bite to eat. Dana wasn't feeling too well and I had absolutely no appetite because my stomach felt like it was on fire. Chloe chose the restaurant for dinner and so we had pizza. Well, they had pizza...I watched them eat.

Okay, so, will someone please tell me what the big deal is about Toulouse?

The next day none of us felt any better than the night before. Chloe slept well but she had dark circles under her eyes and just didn't look great.  Dana found a chemist and bought some medicine for his congestion which seemed to help him sleep better the next few nights.

Okay, so, will someone please tell me what the big deal is about Toulouse?  Yes, the buildings are pink...they are made from brick....brick is pink...

We really just didn't think Toulouse was worth much time at all. Maybe it was because we were all sick so we had a bad attitude but beside the beautiful Cathedral St Etienne... which was really breathtaking...we just didn't think there wasn't much to write home about in Toulouse.

Back in the car and onto Bayonne France...
