Rome, what can I say?  It was in this city that out class spend the most time, primarily because it is such a large culturally rich city.  The youth hostel in which we stayed, Hostelo Foro Italico, was somewhat far from the inner-city where most of our time was spent.  However, this gave most of us the opportunity to get some exercise by walking to most of the citie's attractions.  Additionally, many students frequented the public transportation systems such as the bus lines and subways, which were surprisingly easy to use.  While in Rome, we made many stops at numerous cites.  For example, we visited the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Coliseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Forum & Campidoglio, the Vatican Museum, the Catacombs, Castel Sant' Angelo, etc.  There were so many attractions and museums to visity that I cannont adequately descibe them all here.  However, I will say that the architecture and artwork included among them was, in many cases, astonishing.  In addition to seeing many cites planned cites of interest, the class also had a great deal of free time in the evenings in order to explore the city.  It was while in Rome that I got a real taste for Italian cuisine in that my friends and I frequented may small cafes and restaurants throughout the city.  In fact, my most memorable event of the entire trip came on the second evening in Rome when I ate dinner at a wonderful restaurant located in the square directly in front of the Pantheon.  It was also in Rome that my friends and I met the owner of a local expresso  bar located just outside of the Piazza Navona.  It was here that we made frequent stops after dinner each evening in order to relax and practice our limited knowledge of the Italian language.
