Abu Simbel in the Morning!

So we got up at 2:30 to drive the 3 hour drive to Abu Simbel, which is about as far south as you can go. It was ridiculously early, but we slept on the bus on the way there. At about 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning though, the tire on the bus blew out so we were in the middle of the desert. It's weird because there really is absolutely nothing in between the cities. Like, when you are driving through the desert there's just the road, and you can't see anything for miles. So basically we were in the desert for a bit while they changed the tire and it was absolutely freezing! At one point we all had to get off the bus so they could fix the tire, and it was sooo cold, but that was just a small bump on the way. It got fixed and we finally made it to Abu Simbel, which was really pretty. It was in the middle of nowhere, but it was so amazing. The inside was really cool as well, with really well-preserved hieroglyphs and paintings, along with statues too. It was also by the lake caused by the dam in the Nile, which was really pretty too. We only had a morning there, but it was still really amazing and definitely worth it.
