We drove up from south West rocks and it was the furthest we've driven in one stint and the closer to Byron bay we get the more Wicked camper vans we see. The journey up was uneventful and as it was Jo's turn to drive I got stuck into reading my book. The drive up took about 5-6 hours and we had quite a few breaks and took it really easy.

When we were checking in jo asked for the key for the amenities and I enquired about the general security of the area. The receptionist replied 'there's no crime round here'. When I looked into it there's a lot of crime round there. Well all the normal stuff you find anywhere I suppose. Murdered woman found in wheely bin, bands of youths on the rob and the odd burglary.

The Kangaroos were quite tame and aloowed us to get very close to take their picture.

By the time we got to the Big4 campsite at Yamba and got settled it was starting to get dark. We went for a walk around to explore the place. In one of the fields to the rear of the campsite was about 30 Kangaroos. The Kangaroos were quite tame and aloowed us to get very close to take their picture. On the way back to the campervan we saw what looked like a pool cover, but inflated. When we got closer we saw that it was a large inflatable pillow. There was already a group of people bouncing around on it so we decided to join them.

There's a great river for fishing on called the Clarence creek (or river) I was prevented from fishing it though as the bait shop was closed by the time we got there. All along the shore of the river were the caravans of the hard core fishermen though.

We got here late and we left early the next day so we didn't get ichance to really explore the area but the campsite was nice enough. Very quiet.
