Well Ania and I had a few days before heading to Croatia to see some sites near Ania's hometown.  On Wednesday we visited Pszczyna which has a nice Palace and the tyskie brewery in Tychy. Here is one of the many oddities in Poland.  Right now we are in the region called Upper Silesia which is in the south and in the north is Lower Silesia.

The Palace was just a quick train ride to the south in a small village.  To get there you have to walk through the former hunting grounds turned into a park.  There are some nice streams and ponds that are around the park.  We get into the palace/castle and start the tour.  Each room was kept just like it was in the old times.  They had pictures of the room from the 1800 and then they set it up exactly from the picture.  It was a different type of museum then most you go to in europe.  After the palace we went up to Katowice to see DaVinci Code.  Not a great movie but we got it for free.  I saw one of the coolest street performers in Europe.  He had a guitar and on his back he had a bass, snare, and cymbal.  He controlled all the instruments with strings and feet.  He was able to keep excellent rhythm and had a good voice, singing in English.

Today I finally got to visit the Tyskie Brewery.  It is a free tour.  They first start off in the museum where the explain the history of the brewery and had a place to take a picture and send an e-postcard.  I sent one to Steve and my mom, so you can get a copy from them.  Then they had a short movie that was in 3-d.  It was pretty cool.  After the movie they took around the brewery.  To end it all they took us to the pub to have a beer.  The only problem was that it was kid's day at the brewery and they only served alcohol free beer.  Not sure how many children they bring to the brewery.  I got a set of glasses, so mom don't worry I am adding to my dishware.  I also got a cool t-shirt and some old pics of the brewery.
