In trying to choose between Warsaw and Krakow, everyone kept telling us how great Krakow was so we chose to go check it out and save Warsaw for a future trip.  Krakow really is pretty great but it isn´t very easy to explain why.  It has lots of interesting old buildings but isn´t much different than Budapest, Vienna, or Lviv in that regard.  Same goes for churches, cobble-stone streets, and of course a river pleasantly flowing by.  So what was it?  I guess it is just the fun of a happy, friendly, outgoing town.  Lots of smiling faces, tons of tourists, live music all over the place.  It didn´t hurt that we had a great place to stay with huge sunny windows and a view of a nearby outdoor market.  Fun!  (I was also probably a bit cheery because I had a 76.6% return on my currency trading account.)  One of the highlights for me though Osa was less enthused was a tour of the armory of the castle.  It was the first time that I had seen such a large collection of authentic weaponry from the medieval era.  Armor, swords, crossbows, halberd, maces, all the good stuff!  Amazing to imagine trying to fight with them...
