Sleep in the Airport

Not much to write for Lima, said goodbye to mom early in the morning at the airport, then went back to bed for a while.  Said goodbye to Quito and then got on a plane of my own to Lima Peru.  When I arrived at 9pm, I found out the taxis were like $15 from the airport to a hotel, the hotels were $20 at least per night, or the cheap ones were an hour from the airport.  Plus my flight to Cusco was at 6am the next morning, meaning I would have to wake up at 3am.  So I decided to put my head on top of my bags at the airport and sleep for a while.  Got a little sleep, and then arrived red-eyed into Cusco at 7am. 

I was recommended to go to Hostel Loki, and took a taxi there.  I thought the taxi driver was going to rob me because we drove way up into the slums, and I knew the hostel was not up there.  Suddenly we arrived at the hostel.  The reason he had to drive all over was the hostel is on a one way street up a very steep hill.  Cusco is at 10,000 feet above sea level and that hill is horrid to walk up (especially with no oxygen), but the hostel is very cool, maybe the best I have stayed in for 2 months.  It is an old renovated building and the walls are 3 feet thick.  I think the showers are the best I have ever had- the water was hot (without fluctuation to cold) and there was water pressure.  It was raining the day I arrived so I just chilled.  The next day went to 4 different ruins north of the city- took a bus up and then walked the 4 miles back (downhill thank god) stopping at the ruins on the way. 

I will post pictures and write about Machu Picchu in 2 days! 

PS I am not doing the Inca Trail there, I am too lazy.
