After 12 1/2 hours on a night train, a quick bus ride and a 2 hour ferry crossing, we arrived in Ko Samui (us and loads of other back packers!). We had no idea where we were heading so we got on the first bus we saw and crossed our fingers!
We ended up at Hat Lamai. A very picturesque beach that is, as yet, not too touristy. Thanks to a friendly French couple, we bagged ourselves a hut (a place called Amadeus) 100m from the beach - only 300 Baht a night (less than a fiver - bargain!!!)

Our hut is fully updated with all mod cons including 2 light bulbs (only 1 works), a 3 speed fan, a bed and a non-flushing toilet ....yay!! We will spare you all the details! It also comes equipped with its own jungle sound effects that last long into the night! We LOVE IT!!
We have used our time here wisely - chilling on the beach and drinking the local beer! We went 'elephant trekking' in the jungle (Jenn had to resist the urge to thump the elephant driver who was a bit of a tit!) Then, after a death defying walk across some rocks, we swam underneath a waterfall (it was just like the Timotei adverts).

We then decided that we should suffer some punishment for having such a great time on this trip... so we went for a traditional Thai Massage (basically, a decking) Ouch! Jenn's bones cracked and crunched so much I thought she would have to be put in plaster and I was folded up like a piece of origami!
For anyone who knows about Vicki's foot phobia you'd of creased up laughing (as i did!!) as her feet were played with and the masseuse kicked her in all the appropriate places ....(I had to pay them extra for this :-P) All said and done, this was actually a highly relaxing experience :-)!

Tomorrow we move on to Ko Pha Ngan where the fun will no doubt continue! But tonight it is fun and foam!!
Thanks to Indian Joe we were well prepared for the drunken matchstick games that Kola and Jedi had in store for us at the Bauhaus. We spent the evening watching the club slowly fill up with foam and then dived right in (after a cocktail or three!!) Needless to say when 2.30 rolled around our passports were soaked and we were slipping and sliding all over the place...the walk back to our hut was as entertaining for others as it was for ourselves :-)
