So today marks the end of my first month interning here.  I am just now getting into the swing of things, the last two weeks has been spent fine tuning my skills and I finally feel like I am actually able to contribute alot more to the team instead of simply taking up their time being trained.  One important lesson that I learned recently was the importance of a moderate work pace.  When I first started, I simply wanted to prove myself and process everything as fast as I could.  This was very productive, but during the third week I realized made the day really boring.  I then realized this last week that that is why people make it a point to go get coffee, talk to each other, go out for lunch, etc.  I am now striking the perfect balance between work and networking.  I still know that work is important, but it is also very important to have lunch with the right people and also let others get to know you.

One thing that happened this week that was really cool was that the president of the company had lunch with the interns, so we were all able to talk with him and make ourselves stand out.  I have made it a point to talk to everyone, especially the people who can make things happen for me in the future.
