Today we are set for Austria as we board the bus for a painstaking 7 hrs trip. The scenery was beautiful with all the high mountains.

We make a stop at Verden in Austria. It was a pretty little town. We are given free time as we head towards Lake Worth which was crystal blue and containing cute swans and their little ones.

Vienna, beautiful by day and by night

The sun was out as we strolled through the streets. Today being Saturday, for some reason, there were plenty fancy looking cars driving through the streets. Teenagers showing off their hotted up cars.

We head into the stores to grab souvenirs and then it was time to head back and head towards Vienna.

We arrive in Vienna at 5pm and the hotel is outside of the main city. The hotel named Hotel Kavalier is a pleasantly large hotel and very comfortable. The rooms are big.

We rest till about 6pm then head to meet Jennifer at the foyer to head into town. We catch the Tram no 52 and arrive at Westbahnof stop. Boarding the tram we struggled with the ticket machine. We finally  get our tickets and for euro 2.20 the ticket last for 1 hr and covers you for the train ride as well.

We get off the tram and head underground to use the train and follow the orange signs stating U3 for the city. The main city stop we wanted to go was 5 stops named Stephensplatz.

Here we arrive in the central part of the city and see the all the wonderful sights.

First stop was the Stephansdom – St Peters Church which is a elaborate church mid centre in the city. It was massive. We walk to Hofburg and walk through the gardens which is quite spectacular.Walk continued to the Parliament and then Rathaus.  Vienna is surely a beautiful city with the grand buildings all tied in with the beautiful gardens all centered in the city.

We head to Graben and stroll through the shops and experienced the city by night. There are plenty horse and carriages around. The atmosphere is great and you feel quite safe walking through the streets.

It is getting late and therefore we are told to use the train and tram prior to 12 midnight so we head back before that and grab our tix for 1.70 euro.

Our stop is nicely convenient and only a 5 min walk back to our hotel. It was so wonderful to see the city by night as tomorrow we would have no chance.
