We spent several hours wandering around the Alhambra. A large complex begun in the 13th century, made up of palaces, gardens and fortresses. Our tickets meant we couldn't go in through the main gates for an hour after we arrived, but we managed to find an unmanned side entrance so got in early. The Islamic Nasrid Palace was beautiful, with its stunning ceiling and finely detailed windows. The Palace of Charles V was interesting with a huge round courtyard in the middle. At the front of the Alhambra was the Alcazaba (fortress), which gave spectacular views over Grenada from its tower.
