After sleeping through our alarms, Jess and I showed up an hour later than planned to meet our friends at the bus stop. They had gone ahead, but we met them in Segovia. The hour long bus ride ended in the small, but spread-out town of Segovia known for its castle, aqueduct and cathedral. Jess, Vadim, Shannon, Emily and I first went to the cathedral, which was pretty, but I felt like I had already seen the same thing a million times throughout this trip in Europe so far.  After walking through the numerous rooms with paintings and crosses, and out through the courtyard, we stopped for a lunch break.  Our senora Loty had packed Jess and me a lunch for the day (which we carried in a little red second-grade- style lunchbox)of sandwhiches, peaches and Coke. We sat at a restaurant while the others ate pizza. As always, Jess and I had to get some dessert so we tried a Segovian (little flaky pastry type thing, similar to a scone). Next, we walked to the roman aqueduct which was pretty amazing. Luckily the weather was nice, and perfect for taking tons of pictures! After hiking to the top to get a full view, we headed to the Alcazar (castle) which was the model for Disneylands castle! It was pretty interesting seeing the artillery, towers, moat, dungeon, and decorative architecture! We headed back to the bus stop, waited an hour for the next one and slept the whole way home. Overall, I liked Segovia better than Toledo; there was more to see and more character. :)
