After several more hours on a bus, we arrived in Phuket around 7pm and searched out a hotel. Once again, I can't remember the name of the hotel, but we had a nice room on the rooftop called the Eagle's Nest. A good deal for a spacious room with hot water. We hit the town in search of food. We walked straight away over to the night market in hopes of a similar scene to Krabi, but were let down on that note. Not so many food vendors, and of what there was, it didn't look so impressive. After roaming around for a bit more, we found a nice local Thai restaurant and sat down to another dinner of pak boone and seafood curry.

Early the next morning we were up having coffee and set out for the day. Down to the bus station, we got our tickets for a night bus to Bangkok and picked up some snacks for the 12 hour journey. Then we hopped in a bus out to some of the beaches to bum away the rest of the day. We stopped at Leam Singh Beach first. This place is paradise. A little crowded, but so beautiful it was worth sticking around a while. We had a nice lunch on the beach and went swimming for a while. After another SPF36 bath, we walked back up the steep path to the main road, and walked south down to Kamala Beach. Also a lovely stretch of beach in a slightly bigger bay. Finished off the afternoon with more beach strolling and swimming and then caught another shuttle back into town. Next thing I knew, we were on the long stretch up to Bangkok. The 24 seat bus is pretty decent, but still nowhere as nice as the Malaysian buses. It did come with a stewerdess passing out all sorts off food and drinks. Don't get that service on Greyhound, that's for sure. Ate, read, and slept waking up just an hour outside of Bangkok, pretty painless for me. For Aspen Annie and the rest of the poor people who may of found my sawing-of-logs just a bit too intense, maybe not the best nights sleep. Good to be back in Bangkok, even if it's only for a day.
