So I can`t exactly say that this has been my favorite place so far. It has it`s advantages (i.e. half litre beer for less than a euro, and that`s a very big advantage), but this place is a tad bit touristy for my liking - more so than Bruges. My first impression of the city was not exactly a good one either. I arrived in the smaller of the two train stations on a Sunday evening, and most shops and stores were closed. However, there were several information booths open. I wasn`t sure where my hostel was located so I asked at several of the information booths. None of them would help me though because they weren`t affiliated with my hostel. So then I asked if they had a map of the city, and although they give maps for free to people who are staying at "their" hostels, they charged me 60czk - the price of two beer!! And then, to top it off, not only would they not point out where my hostel was on the map, they wouldn`t even show me where I was on the map!! Jerks!!

I realize everybody`s looking to make a buck on tourists, but Prague seems to be a little excessive. There`s a fee for going into churches, graveyards - you pretty much have to pay to cross the street. Actually, I was so fed up with paying, I went to a bathroom on the second floor of a museum that backed onto a famous Jewish cemetery, just so I could have a look. Within minutes however, I was kicked out of the bathrooms because I didn`t pay to get into the museum!

Everything being said, Prague is a very nice city. It`s got a lot of interesting history and is very beautiful. There`s also a huge castle at the top of a hill which provides an excellent view of the city - and believe it or not, it`s free to climb the hill!!
