Pisa - I don't know, not so leaning...

I left Florence for a more calm and serene coast of Italy.

I spent the night in a seaside resort just to the south of Pisa and relaxed in a nice room overlooking the ocean.  I watch farr too much Italian TV that I do not understand and finally tune into the World Cup game, no need for words there!

Once again it is all about the food!

The next day, up bright and early I headed for Pisa (myself and 5 or 10,000 other tourists) and the leaning tower.  It was again not as impressive (you can see for yourself by the pictures, not so leaning, although i could see why they would have been concerned) as I had anticipated.  Maybe I have built Italy up too much in my head, but it is not as amazing as I thought it would be.

I am enjoying relaxing and it is very nice to have a car so I can take off and detour when and where I want to.

I pop into a little bakery for some supplies for the road and pick these amazing little scone things.  They are flavoured with what I think is grand marnier and have rasins and almonds in them and if I would have stayed in Pisa anylonger i would look like one, they were amazing and I have no idea what they were called and have not seen them since.  Once again it is all about the food!

I head for the Cinque Terre and some exercise!
