Bob Who?
From First Week In England in San Sebastian, Spain on Jul 11 '06
Well.
We arrived in San Sebatien after travelling from Bordeaux and meeting a number of Canadians, yet again, on the train down. When we arrived it was mornign and us along with another 30 people didnt have a place to stay for the night, so the massive race for tourism info began. Well since we arrived deadlast because of soemwhat useless locals, we decided not to wait in line for a booking. Two other guys we had met on the train felt the same so we looked around for a bit and then split up to find a place. We ended up findign a very expensive apartement, called a Pension, that are litered around the city. When the extremely friendly lady that owned the place was making up the beds she was tlaking in french, spanish, and tiny spots of english; but we managed to pick up something about Bob Dylan. She finally grabbed a brochure she had and on it said the date, and then as she kept talking we kinda were able to make out that it was FREEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So the scoop was that it is some peace tour he is on, and there is a pay area but it was off to the side of the stage and was bleachers. So we headed down to the BEACH where the concert was being held and took a look at what the free area was. And it turns out that the free area went right up tothe stage! So we headed back to the hostel and grabbed some money and went to grab some food and such and then head down to the beach so that we got a good spot. Well when we were leaving our hostel pension thing, we ran into the other guys who we had met on the train and somehow they ended up in the same pension. So we haeded out together and grabbed a spot on the filling beach area. We had a fairly boring 2 hours before the concert but we spent it talking about the Running with the Bulls in Pamplona, since the two guys were heading there tomorrow to do it. Well we had planned to stay in San Sebastien one more night so we were fairly certain we werent going down, that and someone had been killed the day before so we really thought we better stay in SS. Well the concert was amazing and it also had a few other artists in it. And once the show started the beach was as ful as it could have been, probabaly around 250,000 people at least since thwe streets were full aswell. Just an amazing surprise and all five of us had a blast. So later on that night continuing to talk about the bulls, we decided to go down and at least watch the run sicne its supossed to be pretty cool to do that. Well were told that we could just check our luggage down there becasue we wouldn´t be sleeping that night. So we are on the bus to Pamplona...
