Many great places to visit when the season is right. However, even in the off season there is much to see as God is a great artist.
After spending time with the family in the Saint Louis Missouri area, Will and I began our trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We were a little set back on the trip as we choice to stop at the Harrah’s Casino to game for some amount of time. After our stop at the Casino we were off on in the journey. However, we stopped for the evening so to get a good nights rest and begin again in the morning which we did so at 7:30am.

We were making this trip as Will needed to be in Jackson Hole on December 4th for a DOT audit. It was their first one. For myself it was most exciting to be going farther West then I had even been before in my life. We began traveling North on Interstate 29 in Missouri. As Will and I began to get a bit hungry he asked me to look at the signs on the side of the road for restaurants. So at Exit 110 in Missouri we stopped and ate at the Black Iron Grill and Saloon. Will ordered the T-Bone with cottage cheese, and a bake potato. I ordered the 12 ounce sirloin with salad and bake potato.

At 2:30pm.(eastern standard time) We crossed into Iowa. We have about 976 miles till we arrive at our location. We are listening to the Kansas vs. Mizzoo Football game on the radio. At this time it is 26 to 10 with Kansas in the lead. Kansas won the game as we learnt later as we lost the radio station. There are many attractions a long this stretch of interstate. In Kansas, there is the football stadium. Nebraska, we saw this arch going over the highway but there were no off ramps to go to it so later on when we get stopped I will Google it and try to find out what the arch is called. There also was quaint little old church about mile marker 382 then just about a half a mile down the road was a building which appeared to be made like a covered wagon. I did not notice it till we past it and I was unable to get a photo of it. When we pulled over to get fuel, Will let me drive. I am unsure how many miles I drove but I drove the rest of the day as I began at 4:30pm and ended driving at 10:30pm. We stopped at Cheyenne, Wyoming. In Cheyenne, we stayed at the Round-Up Motel. Will and I visited the Outlaw Saloon which was positioned right across the street from the motel. We really like to find places such as this to spent the evening and have entertainment as well. I awoke before Will. It is snowing. This is the first snow we have had on this trip so far. I dared to travel down the street to the local supermarket named Safeway to get shampoo which I had forgot to pack and this motel does not supply for it patrons. As I was there, inside the supermarket was a Starbucks so I thought what the heck I’ll get us some coffee as well. So I purchased us a large coffee each, with Will’s having French Vanilla in his as I know he loves it. It is now 9:30 am here which I believe Wyoming is on Mountain Time Zone. Snowing here still and coming down pretty good and steady. Will is checking the roadways to see if there are any closing as out this way when there are high winds and snow they close the roads. Some of the roads are closed but we may be able to get some distance traveled today before we must stop again. I would like to drive again however I think the winds are too strong for me as even when I was going to the supermarket this morning I was a bit distressed due to the wind and snow. It is looking a bit nasty out so it would be best if I just leave the driving to Will.

Will is joking with me stating that he called his children and tell them that I killed him with my driving, giggle. Not part of the journey but thought I would add this tad bit…Will told me his young adult children, which all of them are, just adore me to death and think I am the greatest for Will. Oh, and stated something like you got one there- don’t loose that one. No worries there. I think he is the greatest too and I do not want to loose him either. He has a wonderful family and they are so warm and kind to everyone. You just do not meet people like that everyday.

Anyhow, back to the trip. It is now 12:30 in the afternoon. We did not make it very far. The weather closed more roads then expected and the one we needed to travel on which is Interstate 80 West. We stopped at a Flying J’s to have breakfast and we chatted with some other travelers while we were there. We were able to get on the far side of Cheyenne where we stopped and checked into the Guest Ranch Motel. The people at the motel were very nice. The room was a bit cold but we warmed up after getting out for a bit and visited a local restaurant named The Shadows Grill and Brewery. We had pizza and a few beers there. We had been looking for a lounge or bar as to watch the football game on their big screen television, smoke, and have a few beers. We were able to do all but smoke at the Shadows or the Eagles Nest which we had stopped at first. Will spoke to a gentle and he stated the smoke restrictions were different from North to South Cheyenne.

I have not taken very many photos today but I am sure that will change…if not today I am sure I will get plenty this week. I am so looking forward to this trip as it was unexpected and I love adventures. I sure hope Will isn’t getting tired of me. Too bad if he is as we are a very long way from home and there is not much he can do. Giggle. Oh, yes. I forgot to mention we have been using a TOMTOM to navigate with on our trip. It is a great gadget; however, it can be very annoying so much more then myself at times.

It is now, Monday December 1, 2008. We awoke pretty early. I am having a blast on this trip. I am so happy that I decided to make this trip with Will. I am missing a few functions at home but what the poop. I never know if I would get to come out this way so I took the chance and love it.
Will began driving this morning. Then all of a sudden he pulled off to the side of the road. He wanted me to drive the last leg of the journey through the Teton Mountains and into Jackson Hole. My goodness it is so beautiful here. We were going to drive around a little in Jackson but Will was able to get in touch with his partners and so we arrived at Shane’s trailer where we were staying at and unpacked. About 5:30pm, we went to dinner with Kenny and Mr. Law. I spoke a few words but not much as this was a business dinner and not for me to talk during business.
