So this past weekend I went to Paris with API and it was phenomenal. We left Granada at 10.30am on Thursday, had to drive four hours to the Sevilla airport and then took a 5.30pm flight to Paris. We arrived at the hotel around 9pm. I shared a room with Joy althought I hardly saw her the whole weekend. A bunch of girls and I went out to eat for dinner. We found this trendy street that had a lot of ethnic restaurants (Spanish, American, Cuban, Japanese, Chinese, etc.) basically everything but French, plus it was pricey. We ended up stopping at a creperie and getting a crepe for dinner. We walked around for a bit, because the area of our hotel (Place du Bastille) was really nice.

Friday morning we did a panoramic tour of the city. At one point we got off the bus to take pictures in front of the Eiffel Tour. It literally stopped raining when we got off the bus and then once we got back on the bus it started pouring. By like noonish the sun came out and the weather was beautiful. I went into the Notre Dame and then my friends and I walked along the Siene towards Arc de Triomphe. So even though there´s a tunnel that you are supposedly to take to go underground to get to the Arc de Triomphe, my friend and I ran through the street to get to there. Fortunately, we survived and only had one close call. We took the metro to the Sacre Coeur. It is gorgeous there, you get an amazing view of the city. We went inside and it was so peaceful. We ended up sitting outside for like a hour watching some guy play his guitar. At night we decided to go to the Louvre, because it was free admission although we didn´t really see anything because we were looking for the Egyptian section but couldn´t find it for the life of us.

On Saturday we went to the Louvre with API. That place is so overwhelming because it is so big. I saw the Mona Lisa and was a bit disappointed because it´s really small. Afterwards we went to the gardens in front of the Louvre and fed some birds. Then we went to the Luxembourg gardens (which are really pretty) and shared a bottle of wine. I ate escargot and really like it. At night we went up to the Eiffel Tour. This year it´s blue with the EU´s stars, because they are hosting the EU something this year. The view from the second floor was amazing, but it was too cold to stay outside long or go to the third floor.

Sunday was a lazy day. The Pere Lachaise Cemetery was walking distance from our hotel. It is so easily to get lost or separate from everyone there. It was snowing in the morning which was nice. I got to see Oscar Wilde´s and Jim Morrison´s grave. Then I walked around the city for a bit because I had a lot of time to kill. Conveniently it began to pour so once I was soaked I went back to the hotel and waited until with other people until it was time to leave.
I ended up not going to Versailles, because a lot of people said how the gardens weren´t pretty since it was off season and all the statues were covered up in plastic and I didn´t even really have the time. A weekend is totally not enough time to spend in Paris. I definitely want to go back for atleast two weeks, or hey maybe I´ll just move here after college and learn some French.
