We had a 4 hour bus ride to the Longji rice terraces and walked 40 mins from where the bus dropped us off up to our guest house. It was made completely of wood and you can have conversations through the walls. We chilled that night ready for our hike the following day. We woke up in the small hours of the morning and it was raining...hard. It continued raining, and raining, and raining. It rained while we got dressed, while we had breakfast, while we got ready and as we set out. It rained for our whole walk and so heavy that we were wet through by the time we’d finished. The views were good though and I have a new respect for rice now that I’ve seen where it grows. There are villages all along the way perched high up in the hills and we stayed in one of these. We watched a minority show and joined in with the bamboo dancing. We also tried local rice wine which was lovely. Unfortunately it was a bit misty so we couldn’t see far but we still enjoyed it.
