Day 1 Space Capital!

My first day in Alabama begins, of course, with work. A short drive over to a small college, and a strategically picked table land me in the middle of a 'Bama gymnasium, next to the sweetest little southerner. A raffle for door prizes leaves me empty handed, but I don't even care. I'm off to Space Camp!!!

Huntsville is the Space Capital of the US! Who knew!? I spent the afternoon at the US Space and Rocket Center. A large museum that houses full sized rockets and space shuttles, among many other space related artifacts. But more importantly, this is where Space Camp is!! You all know you wished you could go to Space Camp as a kid. I was there!! I even got "shot into space!" What a fulfilling afternoon!

But I couldn't stay too long, I had a 90 minute drive to Birmingham. Quickly checking in, I meet up with my friend for some excellent BBQ and fall asleep southernly content.
