First impression....Weather was cooler than we expected, landscape was arid and there were more tourists than we had anticipated....

Highlights:

Jaci and Steve swam with the sea lions;

Puerto Ayora, Isla Santa Cruz is the hub of most activity in the Galapagos.

Fletch did a dive course.

Lots of: Hi-lux dual cab utes (every car); Seals, pelicans and frigates fighting for scraps at the fish market; Galapagos tortoises at Charles Darwin Research Station; Tourists; Dive shops in Santa Cruz.

Very little... English spoken...Calm nights in the anchorage.

A great visit to this special part of the World!

I am planning a trip to the Galapagos in Feb or Mar of 09 and would like to know if it would be possible to book boat travel to the islands when I get there instead of ahead of time. I have no problem with roughing it.
