the world is on the back of a bike

The lovely manager of Thein An organised a man and a bike for me to see the surrounding areas of Dalat. Breakfast was gloriously good as usual but the weather outside seemed ominous. Dark clouds and the hint of rain. I was a little worried that maybe this day trip was going to be a little arduous.

Huan met me with his chariot, a sturdy motorbike of modest proportions. I was reassured by his sweet and honest face.

We started the journey at the laughing buddha and elephant falls.

A glorious statue of the man who was beyond the boundaries of this world. His face was immortilised in bursting laughter. I wonder what was so funny to him......the joke was probably on us.  Even though he was a statue he seemed imbued with personality and gusto. More alive than the alive, I hope not!

Travelling on the back a motor bike is a wonderful way to see the country.
