Madison

Drove up Lakeshore drive to Hyde Park on the South SIde to University of Chicago and surrounding neighborhood so I could see what my roommates have been talking about for the last two years. Went to Chinatown for lunch.

Met my mom at Midway Airport. Went downtown, drove around the loop, then hit the road out of town. Made it to Madison by late afternoon. I love the way this city is laid out, on a peninsula sandwiched in between two beautiful lakes. A lovely city. I can see why its ranked as so "livable"

Next day toured around the University of Wisconsin campus. It is situated right on the lake. Right next to the Student Union is the Union Terrace where hundreds of colorful chairs sit facing the beautiful lake and beer is served at an outdoor patio. I dare say we didn't have anything like that at Penn State.

Then saw the Wisconsin State Capitol which is a breathtaking piece of architecture. No security at all.
