We arrived in Marrakesh late in the evening Saturday after a day spent flying.  The next 2 days we toured Marrakesh.  On Sunday, before the Craigs and Jones' arrived, we hiked off to the modern downtown and bought tickets for the guided City bus tours.  That filled the day until the supper hour.  When we got back to our hotel, the Craigs and Jones' had arrived and were well advanced in their plans.  We went our separate ways with the Mahons and Harles for memorable but "western" dinners.  Ours was at a French cuisine restaurant, owned by an enthusiastic Paris transplant who delighted in us ordering and reordering her fine French wines and introducing us to her 3 chefs, one for the salad course, another for the main and still another for the desserts. We think our bill made the month for her.

At breakfast on Monday, we connected with the Demas' and the Craigs and Jones'.  We all headed off together but left the other 3 couples to continue on the bus tour we'd done Sunday.  We, the Mahons and Harles checked out some gardens and markets, taking a horse drawn taxi back to our hotel.  We lunched at the restaurant the Craigs and Jones' went to the night before.  Then, back at the hotel, Grant Ericksen and Lynn checked in.  Matt, our tour guide and his family showed up as arranged at 3 for our briefing.  Monday finished with a guided tour of the Medina (old walled City) and dinner at a restaurant, Dar Essalam, which was featured in the movie "A man who knew too much".
