Sweaty palms in Toronto

Toronto is very much the big city. In fact it reminded me of New York. It is a flourishing financial centre for Canada so has lots of tall skyscapers downtown. It is famous for the CN Tower so I paid it a visit. It's a bit like a huge concrete needle, sticking 553m up into the sky (apparently there will soon be something bigger in Dubai, but until then, this is the tallest free standing structure on earth).

A very fast elevator ride brings you to the observation level (346m). I was ok here until I happened upon the glass floor. That's when the palms got a bit sweaty. I couldn't bring myself to stand on it, even though there were several little kids (and a few adults) blithely wandering or crawling around on it.

Next, another lift took me to the Skypod at 447m. Clouds occasionally drifted across the view but when the sky was clear you could see for miles; across the city northwards and Lake Ontario to the south. If it is windy this bit wobbles up to 1m! Thankfully not today.
