So the original plan was to spend a night in San Diego but my Grandma wasn’t back from her 4 day trip until the day I was leaving so I decided to stay an extra night to make the effort to at least see her. This then meant I arrived in San Diego the day I was leaving for New York City. My plane was scheduled to leave at 9:15pm, I caught the 12pm Greyhound down to San Diego and got in by about 2.30pm. Upon arrival I squished my backpack into a locker and decided to walk around the city to checkout a few major sites and attractions. I got out my Lonely Planet guide book looking at the map of San Diego.

After walking through Gaslamp Quarter, where it was known for gambling and notorious criminal activities in the olden days and now turned into a stretch of fancy fine dining restaurant and bars I ended up in Italy town again looking at my guide book for the next sight to see. Then I bumped into 2 Canadians asking me for directions to find the Old Town Trolley Tours. I ended up tagging along with them in their quest. Stewie and Polly were their names. They were quite a playful couple just joking around and laughing at anything. They were here in San Diego starting a new job at the Hard Rock Hotel. Anyhow we walked along the wharf and found the Old Town Trolley. We chatted to the sales assistant for a while before buying tickets and ended up getting the tickets at half price.

We then got on the Old Town Trolley, blue orange and green kind of like a tram on wheels, it was a narrated tour of the city and special landmarks viewing things like the San Diego Harbor Cruise Ship Terminal, the Seaport Village, and even crossing to Coronado an island just off San Diego connecting via the San Diego/Coronado Bay Bridge. The round trip Trolley Tour took about 2 hours and by the time I got back to the Greyhound Station I got my bag out of the locker and caught the bus to the airport which so conveniently stopped right outside the Greyhound Station. I checked my bag through American Airlines and I was ready to fly eastward to explore the city that never sleeps. New York City.
