This was always going to be a long stop over, and we really planned on taking it easy as we had plenty of time.  The first major thing we planned on doing was going to see a bullfight.  We were both against the concept of it all, but when in Rome... (or ah, Spain!).  We had booked our tickets for the bullfight online earlier in our trip as we didn't want to miss out.  The bullfight wasn't as bad as we thought it would be, it was cruel, but exciting at the same time... apparently the fight we saw was pretty bad, the bulls wern't strong enough and were dying too early in the fight, there was a lot of people standing up and abusing the 'president', the guy who controlls the entire event.  Luckily we had a couple sitting next to us who could speak english and were telling us exactly what was going on.

Also in Madrid we visited some amazing markets, where there were stalls for absoloutly everything, we managed to get a couple of unique souvineers and saw some pretty interesting stalls as well.

Madrid has this amazing square in the middle of the town where lots of entertainment happens and there is a million resturants, we strolled through here a couple of times just to soak up the atmosphere.

On our last night in Madrid we went bar hopping with some of the friends we had made at the hostel.  THis was pretty fun, it's impossible not to dance to Spanish music, and we didn't resist!
