Another fabulous day in Paris. We walked over to the Picasso museum which is close to our apartment. It is considered a “small” museum but it still took us a few hours to see it all. Picasso was sort of a wacky guy, but very talented. He was known for his cubism, but prior to that he did a lot of sculpting in bronze, portraits, and collages. One sculpture that was from his cubism period was, “Woman With a Pushchair”.
Afterwards we walked over to the Jewish quarter hunting for a good falafel place. We ate at Café Annemarie which is in Paris, run by Jewish gentlemen, and on the cover of the menu a Anna Nicole look alike. Despite the inconsistencies, the food was excellent. You can pick from about 20 items to go with your falafel. We chose feta cheese, hummus, thin, and tabular. Then we choose from different breads with which to eat and combine the different items. Very good.

On the way back we stopped at a shoe store and Madeline bought some cute shoes for 15 euros, a pretty good deal. To woman in the shop was very friendly and funny. She danced around with Maddie to make sure that Maddie bought good dancing shoes!!
Nap time. But first we made our daily stop at the Boulangerie for our daily dose of baguette, and a sweet.
After naps we walked over to the Ile St. Louis, the little island in the middle of the Seine. We had an ice cream at the famous Berthillion Ice Cream. They have some really unusual flavors. Maddie had a double scoop of caramel and vanilla chocolate cake and I had run raisin.

One of our favorite shops on Ile St. Louis is Pylones. They sell unique colorful gifts. I bought a set of purple espresso cups and plates. I can’t wait to use them when we get back home.
The French really love their dogs. They are everywhere and so well-behaved. They are taught not to interact with strangers, but of course it is hard not to talk to and pet them.
Tomorrow we will be visiting the Louvre and Eiffel Tower. Thank you to all of you who have made comments. We really enjoy reading them and it feels good to have positive thoughts with us on our travels
